Do the wings in the beast like a lion in Daniel represent the United States? And if they do what does the plucking off of the wings from the lion beast mean?

Currently I am partial to believing that the wings on the “lion” kingdom in Daniel 7 represent the United States. The lion is the national animal/symbol of England.

The Eagle is the national symbol of the United States.

Granted, the 4 kingdoms in Daniel represent ancient Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome but they cannot only represent these kingdoms for these kingdoms will be existing when the antichrist is destroyed and thrown into the lake of fire by Jesus when Jesus comes back to establish His kingdom. In fact, they will exist for a period of time beyond the day Jesus sets up His kingdom, see Zechariah 14.
Think about it, the United States was initially the colonies of Britain, attached to Britain. The vast majority of American colonists were British in ethnicity. The U.S. broke away but actually remained closely tied to Britain from the very beginning of the creation of the nation to the present.

Nobody can dispute that America is divided and it is not coming back together again. Too many have turned away from that common thread that held them together, God, the God of the Bible, Jesus. Even the North and South during the civil war had that in common, but not today; just look at current events and our politics; look at the apostasy of the Church.

It appears that America is going to fall into two separate, weak and non-effective actors on the world stage. The language of being “plucked off” conveys something happening “suddenly” and “violently” but without being destroyed. Plucked wings; still existing but with no life or effectiveness.
Jesus said if a kingdom is divided it cannot stand. America is divided.
The United States has no closer partner than the United Kingdom.
