FIFTEEN: ORIGIN OF THE COUNTERFEIT RAPTURE
The Word of God is explicit in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4, the rapture of the Church does not take place until the Antichrist proclaims himself as god while he is siting in the temple of God. There is no historical record in the Church nor outside the Church of this event taking place at any time from this message being put forth in 52 AD to the the present date of 2015. Coupling 2 Thessalonians with Mathew 24:15 and Daniel 8:9-12, 9:25-27 & 11:30-31 cements the fact that the rapture of the Church occurs after tribulation. There is no misunderstanding Paul's message to the Thessalonians for he was clearing up confusion and falsehood that had been sown into the Church by false teachers. This falsehood was a "counterfeit rapture." This "counterfeit rapture" has now reappeared at the end of the age. No doubt this falsehood had a significant and negative impact on the believers in Thessalonica. Imagine for a moment that you are a professed believer in Jesus Christ expecting to be raptured and then are told that you missed it by biblical scholars and leaders in the Church. Imagine the impact that would have on your understanding of Christ's return. This one lie, this one deception, unless summarily dealt with would easily enable the deceivers to foist an ever increasing number of lies and falsehoods upon the deceived to the point they are believing something that is completely contrary to basic truths of God's Word. The power of the deceivers over the deceived becomes so immense that if the deceivers were to direct the sheep to jump off a bridge the sheep would do so. The extremists in Islam use this tactic of indoctrinating falsehood into people which results in suicide bombers in exchange for heavenly treasure. The Japanese kamikazes of WW ll motivated by the samurai honor code perpetrated the same. The Christians who joined the Popes' armies were granted absolution of all their sins, guaranteed entrance into heaven, emboldening the soldiers to not only join the armies but freeing their conscience to commit unconscionable acts and sins. LINK All lies originate with Satan the Devil. He deceives the whole world. Those who are not of Christ are held captive to perform Satan's will without even realizing that they are doing so. Satan's agenda is to steal, kill and destroy. The purpose of the counterfeit rapture is to steal, kill and destroy. Satan deceives people into doing things they would not ordinarily do if they were aware of the complete truth. Satan's goal is to use the counterfeit rapture to deceive people into performing his will which is to steal, kill and destroy other people. Once the deceived individual has finished the works of the devil or has no longer become useful to Satan the devil, Satan destroys him too. Deceive/steal, exploit,/kill, throw away/destroy soul. Not only is there the general purpose of the counterfeit rapture but there is also a specific goal to be had by using the counterfeiter rapture to mislead a good portion of the Church and millions of people who not a part of the Church. Having been mislead by this lie, what else is Satan deceiving members of the Church into doing? Just as it was possible for falsehood to creep into the Church during the first century so too can it be secretly sown in during the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. Darby could be the most sincerely honest man in the world and could have ignorantly spread a falsehood throughout the Church or Darby could have been the biggest liar in the world espousing a truth and yet neither would affect the validity of Pretribulatioalism. Pretribulationalism is validated or disproved by the Word of God alone independent of the character of the messenger. |
